Features of ceiling air conditioners, photo

Ceiling air conditioners are not as common as wall split systems. And in vain, because they work no less efficiently, completely without changing the design of the room. This is a convenient option when the walls are finished with expensive and exclusive materials or you need to install an air conditioner near a glass showcase.

What is a ceiling air conditioner?

Features of ceiling air conditioners, photoThe indoor unit of the ceiling air conditioner is mounted directly to the ceiling. It is a compact device of small height (better than the 15 cm model) and light weight. Leading manufacturers are constantly working to reduce the weight of their structures. The air flow is blown out of the front panel through a system of adjustable louvers. Indoor units of many models can also be mounted on the floor in an upright position.

The outdoor unit is similar to that of a conventional split system. It is installed outside the window.

The route between the outdoor and indoor unit runs along the ceiling. Most often, it is hidden under decorative elements or in strobes. Sometimes, the indoor module is located on the ceiling directly next to the outer wall to reduce the length of the route (for a photo of a ceiling air conditioner of such an installation, see the appendix).

Features of ceiling air conditioners

Ceiling-type air conditioners are produced not only by expensive manufacturers: Panasonic, Daikin, Toshiba, MitsubishiHeavy, General, but also by firms that create economy-class equipment: for example, LG. This is a technique of increased power. Although some manufacturers create models with a capacity of 2.5 kilowatts, as a rule, ceiling models are designed for medium and large rooms (from 50 to 140 square meters. Meters).

Ceiling type air conditioners can be 1, 2, 3 or four-flow. The model is selected depending on the size of the room.

Since air conditioners of this type belong to the most modern developments, they are all controlled by inverters.

Manufacturers equip their models with an infrared remote control or a wall-mounted wired remote control (sometimes at the buyer's choice). It is possible to control several units at the same time when installing multisplit systems.

See photos of ceiling air conditioners in the attachment. All of them operate in cooling and heating modes.

Some are equipped with additional options:

  • defrosting;
  • autostart;
  • self-diagnosis;
  • dehumidification of air;
  • auto mode;
  • "sleep".

There are models that provide a fresh air admixture in the amount of 10%.
