Split air conditioners: floor, ceiling, mobile

Split air conditioner systems consist of two or more units. They can be floor-standing, ceiling-mounted and even mobile. But one of the blocks must be mounted outside the building. The other is located in an air-conditioned room.

Split floor air conditioners

The indoor unit of the floor-standing split air conditioner is attached to the wall near the plinth or directly to the floor. The special design allows you to create convection air flows that are comfortable for people present in the room. Air is blown out from the bottom and top of the unit. Floor air conditioners are mounted split systems in rooms with glass or curtain walls and ceilings, where it is impossible to use others. They occupy a small floor area, but it is not comfortable to be in the area of cold blowing. Therefore, the capacity is calculated for medium and large rooms from 35 to 140 sq. meters. Some models of split-system floor-standing air conditioners can be hung horizontally on the ceiling.

Floor split air conditioners are installed in large halls with special finishes that cannot be changed (for example, a museum or a restaurant).

Floor-standing air conditioners belong to the business class and the middle price category, they are reliable and high-quality equipment.

Ceiling split systems

The design of the indoor units of split-system ceiling air conditioners is designed for placement under the ceiling. Therefore, the block height is not great, and the air flow is blown out from the ends horizontally. A very convenient equipment for small rooms, where the air gradually descends and a natural movement of currents is created.

At the same time, the cold jet does not hit the face or back.

Split ceiling air conditioners work wonderfully in rooms with high ceilings (up to 4 meters), they effectively cool the air without taking up extra floor space or walls.

The advantage of ceiling systems is that they effectively serve long and narrow spaces such as shops. At the same time, the module does not need to be hidden under false ceilings, as is the case with channel or cassette models.

Mobile split systems

Trying to please users, developers have invented mobile split air conditioners. In fact, these are advanced mobile monoblocks. But to improve their work, a module with a fan is hung out of the window. Flexible pipes with refrigerant and an electric cord go to the main unit from the outdoor unit.

In heating mode, the mobile split air conditioner is powered by a heat pump, saving electricity. Choosing what to buy: a mobile air conditioner or a split system, you should know that the main problem of a monoblock is not solved and in mobile splits it is noise. Since the compressor is located in the main unit, the equipment is noisy.

But installing the mobile version is easier. And this is often decisive when choosing which is better: a mobile air conditioner or a split system.
