Copper gutters Aquasystem

The durability and reliability of supporting structures and facade finishing of buildings largely depend on the correct selection and installation of the drainage system. Cost savings quickly translate into costly repairs. To avoid this, you need to correctly choose a high-quality drainage system.

Advantages and disadvantages of Aquasystem drainage systems

Drainage systems made of various materials have their pros and cons in their application. The main advantages of the structures of the Aquasystem brand, which are made of copper, are:

  • Long service life - the manufacturer gives a 30-year warranty for all components.
  • High strength and reliability of copper gutters.
  • The patina that forms on the surface of such parts is a good protection against external weathering.
  • For the manufacture of all components, only high quality metal is used.
  • You can use the Aquasystem gutters at temperatures ranging from -60 to +120 degrees. This allows them to be mounted in any climatic zone.
  • The beautiful appearance of the structure is complemented by decorative elements.
  • Copper gutters are easy to maintain.
  • Due to the high quality of all parts, there is no need to seal their joints, since no gaps are formed during the connection.

The following points can be distinguished from the disadvantages of such structures:

  • The prices of Aquasystems drainage systems made of copper are significantly higher than for analogs made of plastic, steel or aluminum.
  • The construction is incompatible with some types of roofing materials.
  • Fastening of copper elements cannot be carried out using steel or aluminum hardware.

It is not recommended to install gutters if cermets, galvanized steel or bituminous materials are used as roofing.

Varieties of copper systems

Copper elements of Aquasystem gutters are:

  • from natural copper without processing;
  • factory patinated;
  • oxidized.

Aquasystem gutters are produced in two versions. In the first case, the diameter of the pipes is 90 mm, and the size of the gutters is 125 mm. It is suitable for roofs with a slope area of 60 to 100 m2. In the second version, pipes with a diameter of 100 mm and gutters with a size of 150 mm are used. This design is used if the area of the roof slope is from 80 to 130 m2.

Parts and accessories

Aquasystem gutters include:

  • gutters with different flow rates;
  • pipes of various sizes;
  • funnels for gutters;
  • internal and external corner pieces of gutters;
  • universal plugs;
  • knees and bends;
  • gutter hooks and round pipe clamps.

A variety of additional parts and decorative trim elements are also produced.

Features of installation of gutters Aquasystem

For self-installation of the Aquasystem drainage system, you will need the following tools:

  • roulette,
  • mallet,
  • scissors for metal,
  • electric screwdriver or screwdriver,
  • pliers,
  • bracket bending.

If a copper structure is being installed, special protective gloves should be used. It should be borne in mind that such systems are demanding on the quality of installation.

The calculation of the number of necessary basic and additional parts is made based on the type of roof, its dimensions and the height of the building. When installing the system, the following points should be taken into account:

  • The gutters are installed on all sides of the roof slopes.
  • The standard length is 3 meters.
  • Special connectors are used for joining gutters and corner pieces.
  • At the ends of the gutter, plugs with a seal are installed.
  • The maximum gutter size for one funnel and pipe is 10 meters.

The slope of the elements towards the riser is at least 2 mm per 1 lm.

Fastening elements

There are three types of lashing hooks. Short ones are used when mounting parts on the frontal board or to the end side of the rafters. Long and elongated are used in the case of fastening elements to eaves or rafters.

  • Hooks for fastening parts are installed in increments of 50 cm to 90 cm. They are fixed with self-tapping screws.
  • When installing copper systems, the pitch between the hooks is from 30 cm to 60 cm. For fastening, stainless steel hardware or passivated self-tapping screws are used.
  • The corner pieces are mounted on separate hooks.

In the place where various elements of the system are joined, it is worthwhile to provide for the installation of additional fasteners.

Downpipes

For each separate riser of a one-story building, it is provided:

  • one pipe of standard length of 3 meters;
  • two pipes 1 meter long;
  • one funnel for the gutter;
  • two universal knees;
  • one pipe bend;
  • three kits for fixing the riser.

Universal elbows are used to allow the riser to bend around the eaves. If the overhang is more than 25 cm wide, an additional pipe is required between the two elements. A branch is mounted on the lower part of the riser. The distance from the ground to the edge of the downspout is 20 to 25 cm.

The high cost of copper drainage systems Aquasystems fully pays off by their long service life and aesthetics of appearance. It is unprofitable to install them on roofs with cheap and short-lived roofing materials.
