Russian manufacturers offer two types of metal gutter systems: Grand Line Premium and Optima. There are also plastic Rohrfit Meister models made of durable polymer with rounded parts. It is distinguished by the increased rigidity of the brackets. The system is sealed by special red seals.

The "Optima" line is presented in round and rectangular sections. Dimensions 127x91 and 103x78 mm. This is a budget option for a metal gutter with an inexpensive polyester coating or even just galvanized.

The line "Grand Line Premium" with elements of a semicircular section is produced in steel design with different types of protection. It can be a double-sided polyurethane coating or an Aluzinc galvanic protective layer. There are two types of such systems in different sizes.

The 125 × 90 mm option is suitable for a small country house. Devices in this series are inexpensive, durable and reliable. Despite the small cross-section of the pipe, water leaves quickly due to the increased length of the gutter.

The 150 × 100 mm version will provide drainage of melt water and precipitation even from a large cottage with a wide roof. Suitable for industrial buildings. The device is economical: one funnel is enough for a 150 cm chute.

Advantages and disadvantages of installations

The Grand Line gutters have many advantages:

• high throughput;
• increased strength and resistance to deformation due to galvanized steel with a thickness of 0.6 mm;
• resistance to temperature extremes, ultraviolet radiation and chemical reagents;
• anti-corrosion qualities of any type of coating.

Depending on the type of systems, you can choose one of six shades of the device. This will allow you to ideally combine it with building elements in any style.

The design meets the European standards EN612. The manufacturer gives a written guarantee for 30 years of operation. It also guarantees that the gutter will not lose color brightness for 10 years.

It is possible to mount the structure even in 10-degree frost. The temperature range at which the technical and operational qualities of the system are maintained is from minus 60 to plus 120 degrees.

When choosing a structure with a polymer coating, the owner of a private house may not be afraid of the aggressive effects of the environment. The galvanic protective layer of Aluzinc even surpasses plastic in anti-corrosion and strength properties. Elements with Aluzinc coating have a natural steel luster and an original pattern, which facilitates the use of this type of gutter for design solutions.

Of the shortcomings of the construction on a steel base, only the sound of falling water can be noted, as in heavy rain on the roof. Plastic is not as impact resistant as metal.

Design features

The device is designed taking into account the Russian climate, it can be installed in any region of the country. The gutter part of the structure is deepened by a quarter in comparison with analogs, which proportionally increases the throughput.

The main design details are:

• gutters fixed with hooks;
• funnels for draining sediment from the gutter into the pipe;
• plugs for sealing the gutter ends;
• connecting corners and knees;
• drain pipes;
• additional elements and accessories.

If it is necessary to reduce the gutter or pipe, this must be done with a hacksaw or metal scissors. When using a grinder, there is a risk of damaging the protective coating.

Installation of the drainage structure is simple. It is important to take into account whether the roofing material is installed on the roof when choosing the system parts. If so, use long hooks. They are attached to battens, rafters. If the roof is already covered, shorter holders will be required. They are attached to the frontal board.

Further step-by-step instructions for installing the system:

1. Calculate the number of funnels based on the roof area. One such part with a pipe can serve 120 "squares".
2. At the planned installation points of the roof outlets, make V-notches approximately 10 cm wide in the gutters.
3. Attach the funnel, securing it with a folded section to the outer groove part. Fold the retaining “tabs” into the groove.
4. Place plugs on the groove ends. Seal the connections with silicone sealant. Reinforce the part that is tightly bent onto the inner section of the gutter with a self-tapping screw.
5. Insert the groove into the holder so that the outer edge of the hook is inside the groove curl. Then secure the other groove edge with an overlay fixing plate.
6. Fit the curtain rail with its lower part coming into the groove. This will protect the frontal board from moisture.
7. To join the gutter sections or the gutter with the corner, use special connecting elements that make the structure tight. For their installation, it is required to bend the lock of the docking part to a right angle. Slide the folded section onto the back of the gutter, align and snap onto the outside.
8. Fix the pipe holders with a step of not more than 2 m between them and not less than two for each pipe segment. First of all - in the areas of articulation of the elements.
9. Fit the elbows to the pipes, align the entire structure, connect the mounted drain to the funnel.
10. Adjust the position of the brackets and close their locking devices using the special clips on the clamps.

The roof edge should overhang the gutter by 5 cm. The continuation of the slope line from the gutter edge is approximately 40 mm. In practice, this distance is different - from 20 mm at the beginning and up to 70 mm at the end - due to the location of the gutter at a slight slope.

The pipe elbow should be located at a distance of about 20 cm from the surface, otherwise water splashes will flood the basement of the building. To make the drains go away faster, it is recommended to organize a separate storm sewer system.

Gutter cost

The cost is calculated depending on the model and design characteristics of the drain: material, thickness, type of protective layer.

The price of plastic structures and models "Optima" of the drainage system "Grand Line" - from 90 rubles per running meter. The cost of a running meter of the "Premium" line constructions is from 190 rubles.

If you purchase the parts separately, a three-meter long gutter will cost about 770 rubles, hooks and plugs in the region of 150 rubles, a three-meter pipe - 1000 rubles, funnels and bends - 320 rubles. The "Premium" set for a large house will cost about 16,000 rubles. "Optima" for small "- about 6,000 rubles.
