To mount water heating of a private house with your own hands, you need to understand at least a little about the principles of its operation. Water heating systems at home are also called hydraulic. Water is used as a heat carrier. In the boiler, it heats up, passes through the room along the pipe line, as it moves along the radiators, the heat passes to the air, after which the cooled coolant is sent to the boiler. The system is closed. There are systems with forced movement of the coolant and with natural movement. It is quite possible to install water heating at home with your own hands.
Heating system components
To install water heating of a private house with your own hands, you need:
- Boiler (can be electric, gas or solid fuel);
- Pump;
- Expansion tank, the capacity of which should be 10 percent of the capacity of the entire system (in the water heating scheme of a house it is mandatory - it prevents pipes from bursting);
- Heating pipes;
- Batteries;
- Thermostat is a valve that releases a certain amount of water into the system bypassing the boiler. This reduces the load on the latter. Thanks to the thermostat, cool water coming from the water heating system of the house is mixed with the freshly heated one and the required temperature of the coolant is reached
- Air discharge valves;
- Safety valves;
- Pressure gauge.
Types of heating systems
There are three systems for laying heating mains when installing water heating at home:
- Single pipe;
- Two-pipe;
- Radiation.
The first is good only in that the route consists of one pipe, through which the coolant passes alternately to each battery. That is, you need fewer pipes and less connections. But such a water heating system for a house is only good for heating one or two rooms. Indeed, in the last radiators of the chain, already orderly cooled water will come.
Two-pipe scheme of water heating of a private house good in all respects: all radiators heat up evenly. Warm water rises through the pipe to the upper end of the radiator, and flows out of it into the return line from the lower end.
The radial or collector water heating system of a private house consists in the fact that the pipelines are connected to the collector, from where, according to the principle of rays, it is distributed over the batteries. The heating main is laid under the floor, it must be installed before the floor is poured. The second name of the collector is a comb. This is a pipe to which all the other pipes are connected on one side, which are further routed to the batteries.
For the correct equipment of water heating of a private house, it is necessary to calculate the following indicators:
- Heat loss in the house,
- Boiler power,
- Heating main length,
- Number of radiators.
