Choosing a heating boiler: a quick guide

A country house is a special system that must function like a clock in order to provide the required comfort to all residents of the house. One of the most important parts of this system is the heating system. The choice of one or another heating system must be carried out depending on the existing features of the building, geographical location, as well as your personal desires and capabilities.

Heating circuit

The boiler is the main component of the entire heating system. The whole system and the boiler can have a single-circuit or double-circuit structure. A single-circuit structure assumes to work exclusively for heating the building, and a double-circuit structure will also allow heating tap water.

A single-circuit boiler has one spiral for the coolant in its structure. Such a boiler will only allow you to heat the room.

A double-circuit boiler has two spirals in the body, each of which involves heating a certain type of water: the one intended for heating and that intended for tap water.

The boiler can operate on various types of fuel. You can determine which type of fuel is right for you from the consumption of opportunities. There are four types of fuel that can be used by the boiler: liquid fuel, solid fuel, gas and electricity. In accordance with these parameters, the following types of boilers are determined:

Electrical... Electric boilers assume operation from the electrical network. They are quite convenient, especially if there is no possibility of connecting, for example, a gas boiler. The thing is that nowadays electricity is everywhere, which cannot be said about gas, which must be additionally supplied from the mains. The positive qualities of this type of boiler include: ease of connection and use, as well as a low installation price. However, in the future, the cost of operating such a boiler will require considerable funds, because electricity is not the cheapest resource.

A gas boiler... Perhaps one of the most economical and convenient options. If a gas main passes by your house or nearby, you can choose a gas type of heating without hesitation. This option is extremely attractive for its price, because, first of all, the cost of the resource used is relatively low. In addition, it is worth considering that the operation of such a boiler is fully automated (which cannot be said, for example, about solid fuel boilers). But the gas boiler certainly has its disadvantages. The first is the complexity of the connection. In order to crash into a gas pipeline, you will need to issue more than a dozen documents and other pieces of paper that will allow you to do this. In addition, it should be borne in mind that the use of gas is a somewhat problematic option in terms of safety. Therefore, it is worth remembering to regularly check the status of the entire system.

Oil-fired boilers have a lot of similarities with gas.They differ only in the type of fuel - diesel fuel is used in liquid fuel. This option will be ideal if there is a need to provide heating for a large house, and there are no gas connections. Liquid fuel boilers are distinguished by a high level of power, and, accordingly, the amount of heat that they can provide. Installation of such a boiler does not require additional paperwork. However, it is worth remembering that an oil-fired boiler also has its drawbacks. The first is the large amount of additional care that will be required. Also, the price of the equipment itself is much higher than that of gas.

Solid fuel boilers have the lowest level of automation and the lowest fuel cost. Coal or firewood must be constantly poured into the firebox in order to ensure the proper level of heating in the house.

Combined boilers... This type of boilers assumes the possibility of using two types of fuel in one equipment. They are quite expensive, but they will save you money if, for example, there is no gas connection at the moment, and you decide to use electricity. Subsequently, when the gas pipeline is laid, it is possible to completely change the type of heating in a short time without significant costs.

Model selection

Having decided on the needs, you can proceed to the direct choice of the model. However, quite a lot of nuances may arise here, based on the peculiarities of the operation of the entire system, the location of the pipes, and so on. So, ideally, the planning of a complex heating system is best entrusted to a professional who can determine the correct position of the pipes and the boiler, as well as calculate its power and other parameters. But do not blindly trust the first specialist that comes across. You can first figure it out on your own in order to fully control the design process of the heating system.
