The light diffuser is made of polycarbonate, and the body itself is metal.
Fluorescent lamps are also cost effective. They last 5 times longer than conventional filament lighting fixtures.
LED luminaires are popular. They are used in porches and to illuminate roads. The shapes of such lamps are varied. All devices are equipped with a motion or noise sensor.
Luminaires for porches are stationary or portable. The first option only works when connected to a centralized network. If the lamps are used for street lighting, solar-powered products can be purchased.
LED floodlights
LED lamps are used as the main or backup light source inside a building or outdoors. Motion sensors make them the most convenient and economical to use. The spotlight consists of the following units:

Do not install the floodlight in places with a large flow of people. Otherwise, it will glow constantly. For street lighting or under a canopy at the entrance to the entrance, it is allowed to install a solar-powered product.

Design features

There are some differences in motion sensors:
- Infrared. To activate them, you need to change the temperature in the control zone. They are characterized by safe operation, wide grip angle, and accurate settings. It is possible to install lamps with such sensors only near apartments. Outdoor installation is not recommended.
- Ultrasonic. Wavelengths are emitted and received. Ultrasonic sensors are considered versatile. They are allowed to be used in the entrance and on the street. However, they are characterized by low accuracy, limited by the zone of influence.
- Microwave. They propagate magnetoelectric waves in the range of more than 5 GHz. Expensive devices are equipped with a control panel.
The maximum power of lamps with motion sensors is 2 kW, although this value is too high for the entrance.
Installation and connection
Lighting in an apartment building is mounted according to a previously prepared scheme. First you need to choose the place where the device will be installed. The viewing angle should not be obstructed by anything. In order to prevent the indicator from burning out due to a power surge in the mains, it is better to connect a key switch to the product. It will allow you to turn off the device in the daytime when artificial lighting is not required. It is much easier to install stand-alone devices, since they do not require connection to a centralized power grid.
When connecting the driveway lamp, the general network must be disconnected from the power supply. Instrument wires are connected to cables. After that, you need to adjust the motion sensor. It is possible to set individual settings. However, it is better to use the manufacturer's instructions for correct adjustment.
Advantages and disadvantages of luminaires with a motion sensor
The devices have the following advantages:
- Profitability. Modern lighting fixtures consume much less electricity than standard incandescent bulbs. If such products are installed by utilities, there is a possibility of lower prices for light.
- Ease of operation and maintenance. The device needs periodic cleaning from dust. If necessary, the accessories are changed. From time to time, you need to inspect the lamp for mechanical damage, serviceability of the motion sensor, and the integrity of the plafond.
- Ease of customization. If you follow the instructions, you can set the desired operating mode of the device. For example, it can be turned off for the day and set to work only at night. The duration of the glow of the lamps is also adjustable.
- Ease of installation.
- Autonomy. There are battery or rechargeable battery options. They do not need to be connected to the centralized power grid. Products require periodic replacement of power supply elements.
- High brightness of the lamp.
The products have some disadvantages.
- They are not cheap.
- If the device is exposed to moisture, it will quickly fail, so you should not install it outdoors.
- Depressurization of the plafond negatively affects the operation of the device.
Incandescent lamps are a thing of the past.They can be replaced by modern economical lamps that last at least 5 years. The devices, supplemented with motion sensors, work only when necessary.
